Default What do you eat for breakfast?

This is the 1 meal of the day I have the hardest time with.
I just don't know what to eat ... I'm not a big fan of eggs, and I don't want to do sausage, bacon, etc. (I have VERY high triglycerides)

Also, I can't eat much cereals or oatmeals (I have Celiac Disease).

So, any suggestions?

What do you alll eat for breakfast to balance the carbs/protein?
I'm looking for some fresh ideas!

I generally eat 2 eggs, 2 pieces of low cal wheat bread, 2 pieces of bacon, fruit spread for the toast and salsa for the eggs or 1 cup cheerios and 1/4 cup skim milk or a peanut butter sandwich. According to your post I have not been much help to you. Have you tried oat meal? If you can eat this do so in moderation as it spikes some peoples blood sugar. I am waiting to see what everyone else post. When you find what is best for you can to eat at breakfast please let us know.

Sorry I just noticed you can't do the oatmeal.

Have you tried fruits for breakfast, cantalope and other types of melons?

Some ideas for snacks... nuts (almonds are one of the best), cheese, dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), pork rinds/scratchings, cold meats, boiled eggs, peanut butter.

I hope it helps!

Yesterday I made myself a great breakfast.

I peeled a granny smith apple and then cut it into slices. Then I took a little peanut butter (1 or 2 tblsp), a small amount of low fat cream cheese (1 or 2 tblspn) and a little cinnamon. I mixed it all together and then spread it on the apple slices. It was really yummy and gave me a great start of the day with the protein in it.

I typically eat frozen meals. I too am not a fan of eggs or oatmeal. And cereal and milk just rockets my stuff up. Oh and I don't like eating right when I get up either. So I usually warm up a meal when I get to the office. Yes they have higher sodium and stuff but I know exactly how many carbs, protein, and calories I'm eating and that's the main thing.

I used to eat a lot of sandwiches too - can get all 4 food groups in on a sandwich but now I'm very anti sandwich. LOL.

This sounds delicious! I'm going to try it tomorrow.

I switch off with (this is th best!!) oikos greek yogurt + splenda+blueberries+handful of berries, or....protein bar with a low carb rating...or eggs with ham. I am finding that carbs are really throwing my numbers off!
