I have a dream
My fingertips are looking like pin-cushions, and have done for some time.
This is probably not a new idea, but I really wish someone would invent a BG meter that operated like one of those alcohol breathalyzers that the cops use to see if you're driving over the legal limit (well, they do down here anyway). Just breathe into it. No blood sample, no pain, no fuss, no mess. Then again, if they could invent that, they could probably invent a cure for this wretched disease. Hmmm. While I'm at it, insulin taken orally or through something like those nicotine patches would also be good. (Guess I should be grateful it isn't via suppository.) Ah well! |

I think we all would like that, including all the younger diabetics like me all all other teens around the world

I use to hate sticking my fingers, I dont mind it now. What really sucked is back in the day the Dr office used these tiny metal blades to do finger sticks, they didnt have a lancing device, they just took this little blade out of a package and jabbed it into your finger. It was pretty painful and left a mark shaped kind of like this -v-
They would do it in the fingertip to, so if you had to get more then a few of them it got very sore very fast. I spent two weeks in the hospital when I was diagnosed almost 30 years ago, the tips of all of my fingers were black and blue, it hurt like hell. now we have lancing devices that you can adjust the depth on and you never even see the tiny needle |
