I've been type one since I was eight, so going on 12 years now, and as the years go by it just gets easier. As I have come to find out diabetes is like a finger print, people have it, but every single body that does have it are all completely different from each other. See a bunch of things can effect this disease... Stress, sickness, food, medicine, and hormones.. Ok so you see, stress might cause your blood sugar to go one direction while it causes mine to go another. We are all labeled "Diabetic" but that's basically the only thing besides the medicine that diabetics have in common, and because the disease is like this it's a real pain dealing with doctors. Why, because they're all trying to look at the disease like it's all the same with everyone. My advice for you is basically just take it one step at a time with learning about how diabetes will effect you personally because it's going to be trial and error for months or maybe even years, and there is a big chance after a few years with this disease you will get burned out or tired of it because being diabetic does get old fast, well for me if did. Also don't let the disease control you or stop you from doing things, you can have a close to normal life with it, so good luck and I hope everything goes well for you.
