Default Accuracy - variance between A-1C test and Lab

It seems that my A-1C calculator does not really reflect what my A-1C is. My lab result was considerable higher. Is it a function of when my readings are taken, or is there a difference in methodology?

It will always work this way. The A1c lab test is the diabetes lie detector. The only way that GB will be closer to the A1c lab test is to set alarms and test throughout the night. The GB calculator is only designed to give you an idea of how you are doing and is based on an average blood glucose reading of all the data that you have logged.

Default A1C Variance

Had my first doctor appointment since I started using GB four months ago. Significant variation between GB calculated A1C and lab (2 full points - with GB being more favorable). Is that wide a discrepancy normal?

Yes, most people find this to be true. Please reference my previous post for an explanation of why this is so.
