Cool Hello To All

I'm Rodney and I have been a diabetic since November 2004. I have type 2 and my A1C has been 9.2 for the past two years. Recently (6 weeks ago) my doctor increased my Glipizide dose from 5 mg to 10 mg twice a day. My blood-sugar numbers have dropped and I am now averaging in the upper 140's now. Prior to the medicine adjustment I was averaging in the upper 190's. I'm 6'1" and I weigh between 180 and 185; I have been that weight for most of my life. I don't like the medicine taking bit at all, but I have been doing it because of my family (33 years with my wife and we have six children together). We are both Air Force veterans and we live in the south.

Thank you and I hope to learn a lot here.

Welcome to the Forum!

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
