Newby to insulin
Hi all. I have been diagnosed 5 years ago. Controlled bg with oral Meds,(metformin, januvia, diamocron). diet and exercise. Latest a1c was 7.4. So doc started me on lantus and discontinued 2 of the 3 oral meds. Still takeing metformin 1000 mg x 2 times a day. Started off lantus at 10 units and upping dosage each day or so. Now up to 27 units. Fasting bg is 175. Do I keep upping dosage till fasting bg is <100? I am guessing that getting this right takes time?
