Default New to Diabetes

Hi, my name is Kimberly. I was diagnosed May 2015 with Type 2 Diabetes. My first A1C was 7.2 in February followed by an A1C of 6.4 in April. I have a family history of Diabetes. I am currently taking Metformin 500mg twice/day & am monitoring my BG twice/day as well. Will be taking Diabetes Education classes at my local hospital in July. My plan thus far is to keep my numbers controlled by eating healthier & exercising as much as my other health issues will allow. Looking forward to learning & sharing experiences with this group. Blessings!

Welcome to the Forum!

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
