Hi
So I just started with GB. I was diagnosed with GD in 2012 with my 1st baby. My numbers were totally crazy off the wall. Took all sorts of meds to try and control them as well as changed my diet. Numbers always stayed high. It's been a couple of years since the birth of the baby and we are wanting to start again. I've always assumed I had diabetes before pregnancy and that is was the testing for it that caught it, so I probably have Type 2 at this point. So since we are trying again I decided to start monitoring my numbers so we had a more accurate picture of things. I also plan on speaking with my doctor about my numbers after a week of tracking.
I checked my numbers before dinner tonight and they were 156. Two hours after dinner they were 159. Pretty telling if you ask me. This week I've been really sick with an Upper Respiratory Infection and am on antibiotics and steroids. I'm also taking 850mg of metformin 2x/day for PCOS. The metformin isn't helping me with weight so I've also jumped onto Weight watchers. I really want to be healthy for my children and a potential pregnancy. With all that being said- I can't figure out how to set alerts on my app to check my sugars. Can anyone assist me with that? |

Welcome to the Forum!
Keep in mind that sickness, along with steroids, will drive your blood glucose numbers up. The reminders have been removed from the app. I don't really know why, other than there was some problem within one of the updates. Generally, I just set alarms and reminders on the iPhone. Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
