Default extreme lows and extreme highs! need help please!

Hi my name is lorie and I'm new to this but currently looking at getting more help with my type 1 diabetes. I'm 31 and got diagnosed at age 20. Lately I've been hitting extreme lows on a consistent basis but when I get these lows it comes out of nowhere. It's starting to scare me. The other day I was driving and it had dropped and long story short I didn't know where I was and I thought I was dreaming. Almost crashed my car and fell asleep on the wheel. I made it home safely but it hit me by surprise! It's happens before while coaching a basketball game and it wasn't good at all. All to say what is going on with my body?

I don't know what's going on. I test before I get in the car, and I always always have snack bars and/or glucose tablets within arm's reach when I'm driving. Maybe you're taking too much insulin to cover your carbs. Your doctor can help you adjust that. Good luck!

Hi,

Did you find out or figure out what was going on with your highs and lows and why it was happening? What did you do about it?

I'm still trying to figure out if rice or potatoes make/let my blood glucose numbers go down—I grew up eating rice, so potatoes are kind of a new carbo for me. Lately I've found that tango dancing in the afternoon (practice) or evening can drive my blood sugar too low. Fun, but yikes!
