This morning the reminders were missing my calendar app.
I found that dropbox was downloading photos. My guess is that,it the could happen with Google Drive, MyDrive or others. I turned off the downloads in the settings for these apps and was able to see my reminders shortly there after.

That means it could slow down your connections to the internet.
