Default hi - introduction

Hello. My name is Rohan Pusalkar (Rohan) and I just downloaded and started using glucose buddy.
I am 45, male, out of Pune, India.

Got diagnosed with diabetes 2 yrs ago. Was borderline till recently when during my annual check up my PP sugar was 585. Out of the blue. I was on flu comet SR500 daily and thought had things under control. Apparently not. My hb1ac was 13.
Well, the doc has now put me on increased medication and will observe for a month before further course of action.

Welcome to the Forum!

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.

Default Intro

Hi!
Im Erin. I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. It was a shock! I am very positive though. I don't stay down for long. My grampa told me when I was 5 I was a fighter, survivor and an over comer. That is the family motto. That and ice cream and prayer fixes everything, and it makes ya feel better. After I got the news, I immediately changed my eating habits. I decided it is not a sickness or a disease, it is a life style change. I work out now 2-3 times a week. I am very strict. I can earn a treat but I have to work to earn it. I set goals. If I am one point off I do not get my reward. I was like that with school too, if I made all A's I got a treat, if I got a B+ nope no treat, only work harder. I guess that's how I am with everything, if I don't meet the goal I did not earn the treat. I'm told Im too hard on my self, but the stupid kid that will never go to college. I got my Bachelors in early education at age 38 made the deans list and presidents list while working full time job and a part time job, serving as a youth pastor, caring for my mom who has chronic fatigue, burying my grandmother, and so much more. If you don't push you do not succeed. I work harder on my failures and celebrate victories. So I am working hard to beat this and making a life style change. Its not an omen. It can be beat with hard work. Im not saying I have not broken down because everyone was eating sweets and ice cream and there I sit with my little light yogurt wanting that ice cream. I am not at a point where I can have it yet. I have to remain at a certain goal for one week. Like I said Im strict.
