I had blood work scheduled for Thursday, so I held out on Christmas so I would have excellent results. The Dr was impressed with my numbers, as I dropped from 350s fasting to 150s in just a week.
Then, last night, I blew it. I ate some of the desserts I skipped on Christmas Day. Ok, a lot if desserts. I felt like I earned it. Today, my numbers are in the high 200s again. I feel like I've lost so much ground. I'm frustrated that not everyone in my house (wife and four kids) is eating the same way I have to eat. They still keep all the sweets, candy, cookies, etc.. It's too much temptation, and I haven't figured out how to deal with that. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for giving me a place to vent. |

First please feel free to read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section. Secondly, you can still eat some of those foods, but you have to walk for miles. If it's worth it to you, then do it.

I too blew it and I feel the same way about the home front but we have to keep trying and stay in the fight. It's a new year coming so we begin again. Blessings

I try the get my wife and daughter to still have their snacks although we all eat much healthily now.
Christmas was hard. Very hard. It's my first as a type two and wanted to be good. Blew it a couple of times and had readings in the 13.5 area. But back on track now. Don't try to get everyone to eat the same as you, just try to resist. Easy to say, hard to do. Sean ![]() |
