Greetings from a Tampa Newbie
Hello Everyone, I was diagnosed with diabetes just today and went immediately on insulin. Apparently my 410 blood sugar coupled with a 13.3 A1C and the fact I am thin startled my PCP and set me on my course, following up with an Endo and Nutritionist next week. I went out to Iphone looking for a place to log my BG and alike and stumbled on this app. The page and forums seem like a good place to start. Look forward to learning how to help myself.

I'm glad you are following up with an endo...I'm a nurse with type 1 just so you know, you may have type 1 even if you are not a child or even young adult. Many people are misdiagnosed and that's a pretty high A1C you should ask about antibody testing because if you are type 1 and they put you on oral meds instead of insulin you'll be at a large risk for complications. Hope it goes well for you! Keep your chin up because although diabetes (any type) is a pain, it could be much worse. It also will most likely help you live a healthier life in general. Attitude is a big part of diabetes.
