"> I've had the GB app for 5 months now and love the app. I dont know if I'm considered type 1 or 2. I had a surgery called the whipple end of January. I have pancreatic cancer and this surgery a "cure". It removed part of my intestines, stomach, & pancreas. They ended up removing almost all my pancreas so that has caused me to now be an insulin dependent diabetic. Since the surgery they've tried dozens of meds. The first month I took 137 insulin injections. Now I take one shot a day plus glymeperide and metformin er twice a day. I've lost 90 pounds without trying and certainly am no stranger to depression and anger. What makes it worse is I'm a retired nurse and was very familiar with diabetes and never thought it was such a horrible diagnosis. Sure its life changing. Life changing..... Mmph! How wrong I was to not fully understand the meaning of those words. Half the day spent nauseated and vomiting and other half spent with diarrhea. Waking up shaking, panting, heart racing, ( and might I add I'm alone when doing all this panting lol) scamper to my feet and try to make it to the kitchen to eat of course! Drs assure me they'll get it figured out. ( Hope better than last time. Started me on a pill for bs that causes pancreatic cancer. Hah thats what started all this.
