Blood sugar increased 4 or 5 hours after meals
I am having a very weird problem right now. My blood sugar reached to a ok level (140 to 150) two hours after meals, but it kept increasing afterwards even I didn't eat anything. For example, my bs level was 157 two hours after lunch yesterday, but it went up to 197 before dinner without eating anything. What is even worse, it was 158 two hours after dinner last night, and it went up to 230 before I went to bed, again without eating anything. It has been like that for a week or two. Does any body have similar experience?

Since you posted this in the T1 Section, I assume that you are insulin dependent. If that is the case, I would just take a little more insulin.

Not sure your exact situation. You are in type 1 section. Are you taking a long acting insulin along WITH your short acting insulin? Maybe once or twice a day type shot of maybe Lantus? If so, my guess is that the Lantus is near the end of its life. Insulin out in room temperature only has a life of 20-25 days. As you get to the end of this period of time it becomes less effective in the body given the same shot amount. I typically toss the bottle, regardless of the amount in the bottle, at or around 20 day mark. I had the same issue as you and it is all about the long acting insulin. If you are on a pump, like mentioned before, you may simply need to increase your dosage. You should consult your doctor before doing this.
