New GB member
I am newbie to GB. My name is Bharat, age 67, diabetic T2 since 1998. I have been using GB for about a month for tracking my BG but this my first post. I am very very excited with GB Addlogs, graphs, A1c calculator and forum posts. There is lots of good information about diabetes and members experience managing it. Since I was diagnosed T2 in 1998, my A1c numbers were fluctuating between 6.9 and 8.2. However, during my three month overseas trip early this year, my BG level spiked to around 200 – 240 and A1c shoot up to 9.7 level. After consulting my Endo and dietitian, I change my meals from three times to six times, but with less than ½ portions I was having before. Also I cut down the carbs intake to less than 80g/day and added exercise 5 to 6 days (walking and free weights). Since I started the change about a month ago, my average daily BG is 126 mg/dl (I test 5 to 6 times two to three hrs after the meal. BG ranges between 80 -144).
