Default continuous glucose monitor

I was diagnosed 3 years ago at 41 as type 1. At the beginning I actually had decent control keeping my A1C at 6 or close to it. But the past year or so it raised to the low 7's.

My last dr. Visit my dr. Recommended me getting a continuous glucose monitor from Dexcom. I looked into this and now am very excited about it and I feel it is going to be a great thing for me. I am not ready to go on the pump so this is the next best thing. The monitor has a little piece that has a little needle the size of 2 hairs that you attach to your stomach and it transmits your bg every 5 minutes to a device the size of an iPod. It is all wireless so you can keep monitor in pocket or purse. It has warning bells or vibration that will warn you of highs and lows (which you preset). It is not to take place of monitor for it is not 100% accurate but it will help you see your trends to better control your bg and ultimately your A1C numbers to get to that elusive 5 club

I haven't seen anyone talk about this technology in the forum so if anyone has any experiences I would love to hear them.

The Dexcom G4 (CGM) is an excellent choice. Here is the thread.
