Default Unsure if my 9yr old daughter is diabetic

On May 10th my daughter had a really bad stomach ache n was non stop throwing up. I took her to docs and after running blood labs the doc came in and said that she had a lil high white count (14.6) but what he was really concerned about was her blood glucose levels (219) at this point it was 11:17am n she hadn't eaten since 9:30 pm the night before and was barely even able to keep anything down. He said in a week to come back and have her do a fasting test. After we got home that day I called my aunt who is an Er nurse n started asking questions. On May 12th she brought me a One Touch Ultra 2 n told me just to check her levels 3 times a day n at least 2 hrs after meals. So I have been. On May 12th after activity for a couple hours it was 216. Later that night she had dinner at 6:30 pm and tested at 9:00 pm, it was 96. Then today, May 13th she woke up at 7:15 am n tested at 7:18 am it was 152. Then tested at 3:12 pm n she ate at 12:00 pm it was 161. Then she ate dinner at 5:30 n tested at 8:00 pm n it was 146. Then it was my sons Bday so I allowed her to have a small piece of cake at 8:30 pm so for the heck of it I tested her at 8:55 pm n it was 144. I haven't noticed any changes in her drinking, urinating or eating habits. Now I'm not asking for a diagnosis I am just a concerned Mother asking for thoughts and opinions. Thank you all

Welcome to the Forum!

I am no doctor, just offering some suggestions. It appears that your daughter may be experiencing some form of hyperglycemia. You didn't say if her doctor had recommended a diet, but I would try a diabetes diet - it's how everyone should eat - lean proteins, low fat, unprocessed carbs from fruits and vegetables and plenty of exercise. Learn to count carbs and be sure to keep all the doctor's appointments. The doctor will make the final determination, but you can help in the mean time. Good luck with your child's diagnosis, I wish you both the best.

I don't believe that a 9 year old daughter could also be diabetic
