My grandson was diagnosed with type1 when he was 4 years old, he is now 16 and doing well, he runs cross country with his high school team and hunts and fishes with his friends. I remember how frightened we all were when he was first diagnosed but with the help of his dr and education about his diabetes we have all learned how to deal with and be inspired by his ability to manage his diabetes.
