Hello from Falkirk, Scotland
Hi
I've been type 1 since 1984. I've been on basal bolus for the last 23 years. A1c's were always around 6 but in the last 4 or 5 years they've slipped big time. last one was 9.7%. I've been thinking about carbohydrate counting for a while but have never been able to get on a course due to working shifts and family pressures. GB is fantastic. Makes it really easy to record results and I love the reminders. It has also motivated me to take the carb counting seriously. Found a fantastic site with almost all of the information needed. the 2 following links give info on how to calculate your correction factor and insulin to carb ratio if you're thinking about carb counting. John;
Welcome to the Forum! I have been counting carbs since December. It has made a big difference in my A1c. Mine went from 11.3% in December to 6.9% in March. Good luck with the carb counting maybe we can share some information. Take a look at my post in the T1, When were you diagnosed thread.
