Terry;

Welcome to the Forum!

You are not alone! We are all in this together. Some of us struggle every day, but we get by. Some do very well with this disease. One of the major keys to successfully manage diabetes is knowledge. Read the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. They will help you a lot in your quest for knowledge. Good luck with your control and management.

Hi Terry, I'm new here, too.

I'm sorry you're feeling so alone. I understand what you mean. My doctor told me I have diabetes over the phone and didn't tell me anything about what to do other than to take a pill 2x a day and come back in a month. I felt so lonely and scared and I had no idea what to do.

You might want to check and see if there is a support group or a diabetes education class you can take at your local hospital. Your doctor may have to refer you if there is a class, but he/she should be willing to do that if you ask.

There is support out there, you may just have to look for it.
