Welcome to the Forum!

I am sorry to hear of your daughter's diagnosis, Type 1 is tough, especially for the younger children. The only thing that I can think of to make the insulin injections easier, is to find the smallest needles, as they hurt the least.

Good luck with your daughter's control, management, and most likely the gluten free diet. I wish you both well.

The new pen insulin with the caps have tiny needles my 4 year old likes them better, a pump will be best cause there n r no fingersticks or daily shots. Distracting her might help I know when my daughter was diagnosed at one I had to give myself empty shots alot till she got used to it, good luck and email me if u have more questions ladyharrod@gmail.com

Yes we have the insulin pens they have the 4mm needles they are so small we have progress atm with the insulin injections for the last 4 days she has just laid down and let us do it with no struggle at all we brought back the sticker chat everytime she let us give her a needle she gets a sticker when she has 6 she gets to pick something she would like from the shops we achieved that goal now she has to get 12 stickers so far so good

The goal in the end is to get her onto the pump but I don't know how she will go being attached to it knowing Sophie she would rip it off so when they are on the pump how does that work I haven't heard anything about all I knew is there was that option
