Default new diabetic to the forum

Jim W. I am an 8 year diabetic patient who is also a Primary Care doctor. Glucose Buddy seems an excellent fit for me. I have been in practice for 42 years and have treated hundreds of diabetics.
I have found that I learn something from every diabetic I see. This forum seems an ideal place to learn more.

I'm new also, I'm not sure about anything to do diabetes. One day at a time, learning to live with it. Controlling my eating and knowing what and what not to eat is challenging.😢

I was diagnosed about 5 months ago, and I agree that it's a huge challenge to a) get your blood sugar under control and b) understand what foods work and don't work for you.

The good news is, I've discovered that the lower I keep my average BG, the less foods affect my blood sugar. I can eat things now that will raise my BG from 100 to 110 (at 2 hours), where the same food early on would raise it from 150 to 300.

You have exactly the right attitude... one day at a time, control your eating, monitor your numbers, and make note of things that are good or not good to eat.
