new to BG buddy
Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum obviously. I downloaded this app as a way to help me and my Nurse Practitioner manage my Type 1 Diabetes.
I'm fairly new to injections but I have been a diabetic for 19 years. I came off the insulin pump about 5 days ago due to problems with managing my diabetes with the infusion sets. We think that I've had too much scar tissue build up in my hips and abdominal area. So I had switched to the Sure-T sets and tried using them in my arms and legs but those didn't take either. I'm a weight lifter and so the sites were going bad after a few hours and I was getting no delivery alarms in my pump or I didn't have enough subcutaneous tissue at the site and my absorption was poor. The needles were hurting too and affected what I could do in the gym. So injections were started. I had a couple of rocky days but now it seems we have my Lantus and Novalog dosing figured out and I'm starting to level out! My diabetes has always been under really good control with my A1C's in the 5.8 to 6.8 range so staying under tight control is important to me. A little about me aside from the diabetes. I'm a cardiac RN, I enjoy running and weight lifting and I have interests in make up and cloths. I've been married for almost 6 years and have two wonderful dogs! Thank you for any comments, suggestions or stories if you have similar interests or have had any of the same problems. |

I enjoyed reading your post. I'm a type 1 diabetic and I recently found this app. It's been great so far. I've never really had control over my diabetes and I congratulate you for having such great control. Keep up the good work and I hope I can soon say my A1c is as good as yours. My recent A1c was 8.9. Ugh!

You will get there! Keep trying and just test a lot. I know it's a pain but pretty soon it just becomes habit! I hardly even think about it!
