Default Medtronic pump yes or no?

I want to know people's opinions of Medtronic pumps, the company, and what ever other pros and cons associated with it.

Right now I own the Animas Ping pump but I'm not supper happy with the company now and want to know what Medtronic has over Animas.

I have been on the Medtonic MiniMed since December 2011. It is my first pump I have not a thing to complain about yet. I suggest you do a Google search: 'compare insulin pumps' to get the ins and outs. I did it. Medtronics has been around forever in comparison with other pumps. I have no need to call on my rep as my pump functions and I received very good training from my specialst doctor I am happy. Good luck and best wishes

I've been on the MiniMed for 12 years now and don't have any complaints except the pricing of supplies, but that will be with all of them. I'm on my third pump and only once had a problem with one of them, Medtronic was very helpful and quick in sending me a replacement. I've nothing but good to say about them, and I also just started using the Mio infusion sets and love them!

I don't know how new they are but they are called Mio and they are a self contained unit meaning it has an inserter built in to each one that you throw away. They're really easy to use. I don't have to use extra tape on them to keep them stuck on either.

Medtronic paradigm is my third and FAVORITE pump of all. I used the deltec cozmo prior to this and another that was pulled off the market before that. The quality and durability is far superior to the other pumps I've used and the cgm capabilities are pretty awesome, although pretty expensive too. I highly recommend the paradigm!!!

I love minimed! They are always available and extremely efficient whenever I call them or receive supplies/replacement pumps! I am thankful to them every time I call!! Pump itself works great. I have been using different minimed pumps for over 12 years now and never had a problem! Happy shopping!

I have had a minimed/medtronic pump for 22 years. I wouldn't switch! They are very responsive when you have questions. The pump has lots if features to help with control. I just added the continuous glucose monitor and it has been easy to link them together. I just recommended one to a good friend

I have been on an insulin pump since 1996 and on a Medtronic pump since 2000. I really like their 24/7 help line. One time on a holiday weekend my pump started giving me weird messages. The person called me back and spent a lot of time helping me diagnose what was happening- for some reason my pump was failing after i had had it for a year. On top of it being a holiday weekend it was a Saturday afternoon in California. They fed ex'd a new pump to me and hired a special carrier to deliver it from the airport 2 hours away to me at work on a Sunday! They covered the cost of everything. For that customer service experience I will stay with them for a very long time.
