Default Born again diabetic

So 6 weeks ago my Dr. said it's time to consider insulin. Up to this point I sort of ignored my T2. I took my meds, most of the time, but I ate anything and everything. Since then I've gotten serious about it. I watch what I eat and don't snack like I used to. I'm a chocoholic, but I've completely given that up. I've also started measuring my BG at least 3 times a day.
So far, I've lost 15 pounds, and my BG is much improved.
I see my Dr. on the 20th. I think he's going to be happy with me. I really hope I can avoid the insulin.
Anyway, I'm now here for the long haul....wish me luck!!

Welcome to the Forum!

Many of us have started out the same way. Congratulations, on the weight loss, it sounds like you are on the right track. Read the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, if you haven't already done so. Good luck with your control and management.
