Default New Type 1

I am 23 and just diagnosed with t1... In the e.r. My Bg was 659... In this first week my Bg has been running between 180-250.. Is it normal to take some time to adjust to the insulin and getting the carb counting down?? No worries just new to this.

Welcome to the Forum!

Keep counting the carbs, you are off to a good start. Just remember that your bolus insulin dosage accuracy depends on your accuracy with counting the carbs and it takes a while to get really good at it. Good luck with your control and management.

I am 25 and was diagnosed with type 1 about two weeks ago ... I was at about 460 with an A1c level of 14 when I found out... My levels have been bouncing between 70 to 199 and I have been told that it takes a while to get it more level and figure out the carb counting. Not sure how much that helps but just thought I'd share that... Good luck!
