Default What to eat for calories

Since going back on low carbs, I am having trouble getting close to
2000 calories which is about what
I need to maintain my weight. Ideas?

Other than the obvious high carbs and sugars, I'm sure you don't want that.

It's not often that someone asks for foods to maintain their weight, most are trying to loose.

Take a look at proteins, if you are not trying to maintain a vegan diet. A six ounce steak and two eggs is 535 calories.

Thanks for the thoughts. In just a month back on low carb, I lost 12 pounds and my doctor said I am at my ideal weight. I know I am blessed with high metabolism. As I start exercising, I want to build muscle and maintain.

The calorie calculator is very useful for weight management as it displays how many calories are needed over the specified period of time. It keeps track of your weight loss and calories required. The less you weigh, the fewer calories you will need to take in for weight loss to continue.

First get away from more calories as much as you can.Other than the obvious high carbs and sugars, I'm sure you don't want that.

for me at the beginning it was eat all you can, and 5 more (mouth fulls). if you're just starting out i would go with the 2500 min and up it up by 250 each week for about 1 or 2 months then go back down to 3000 a day.

I know it's hard to eat the right amount of cals to maintain your weight however if you are looking to increase muscle mass then you shouldn't be to worried about cals instead you need to look at protein intake. For the average person 1 gram of protein per lbs of body weight is sufficient enough to maintain however those of us who are trying to put on mass need more protein. For me 1.5 g per lbs of body weight is just right according to my dietitian I need 3150 cals a day to increase my mass but there is no way I can eat that much so instead I consume 1.5 g of protein per lbs of body weight and I consume about 1200 to 1800 cals a day. Some of the protein I consume is supplemented and most is eaten. Very important before going to bed take casein protein instead of whey protein casein protein will digest very slowly about 7 hours so it will help speed recovery time. My sugars are unaffected in the morning and I typically have a reading of 85 when I wake up. So far I have gained 2 lbs in four weeks and my BMI has dropped 1% by consuming 1.5 g you may have to play with the numbers a bit to find out where your at since everyone is different.

Good luck and let me know how your doing and we can compare notes and gains together my doc wants me to pack on 10 lbs of muscle so I'm kinda on the same track.
