I've been type II for 8-years. I have trouble with my diet. I take two different insulins and am on metformin. I really need help with breakfast. Choices are either high in carbs or high in fat and cholesterol. I'm thinking of using whey supplements for breakfast as a protein drink. I need to get control before it's too late. Any suggestions?

If you aren't having trouble with cholesterol or triglycerides, you should consider low carbs like meat and eggs. When I went on Power Protein low carb, my lipid readings improved. That was 8 years ago and no meds until metformin this year. My A1C stays under 7.

ggrub;

Welcome to the Forum!

How many carbs is too high?

Two (2) pieces of whole wheat toast
Two (2) pieces of bacon
Two (2) eggs = 28 carbs.

Loose the toast and it's pretty much ~zero (0) carbs.
