Omnipod
I just started my Omnipod. I've been putting it mostly on my lower back, alternating between the left and right side. On occasion, I've experienced some red bumps after removing my Pod. Has anyone else experienced this?

Omni Pod
Isn't it uncomfortable using it on your back?
I used to be on it but my A1c's kept crawling up because of it not sticking on my body. I felt it was too heavy to stay on. Went back to my Medtronic pump and now I am back on shots. Used the pump for almost 20 years and found I just had too much scar tissue for the insulin to dispurse evenly. Too many highs and lows. The Lantus and reg. insulin seems to be working properly again and I will see the next A1C if it really has. I am using my iphone with Glucose Buddy and it is great to document everything. You are very limited with the Omnipod with areas to put it. I am waiting for them to micro it. |

I've used Omnipod for almost 2 years now and I still love it. It beat injecting 8 times a day and I don't have a tube to contend with. And yes, I'm probably limited by the number of places I can put it, but I don't mind. I can't put it on my upper arms because I use Androgel every morning. I don't have lows anymore and my A1c is between 4.8 - 5.5.

Omnipod is the worst pump for children but of course they just want to sell to everyone even if its not a good fit.

Omipod
I too have just started on the omnipod.. I love the idea of no tubing..
but now that I am doing the saline.. it must be the canula that is giving me the rash since when I tested them before just to see how it would be having this attached to me i didn't experience any kind of rash.. My 2nd pod is due to be changed tonight so I am going to try to add Nu Skin before I put the pod on and see if this makes any difference.. thats what I have read made a difference for some people.. well see.. besides this rash issue .. I love it, but its not going to work if i cant get past this. |

I have been on Omnipod for 2 years now. I wear mine on my upper arms and switch sites every time I change a pod. I used to have issues with them not sticking but I now use 90% alcohol to wipe the site before attaching one and haven't had one coming off once since I started this method. Love the idea of being able to swim and take showers without having to disconnect.

My son is 8 1/2 and has been on the omnipod for over 3 years. We have never had trouble with it sticking. Getting it off was the problem but we use detachol now when taking it off and it gets rid of all the adhesive. I then clean the site and use some moisturizer and he doesn't get a rash ever. His a1c's have been in the 6's often. and we just rotate his arms for sites. We love it! You can also get arm bands on the site "bands for life" to help keep it protected when swimming etc.
