Overnight Type1 diabetic at 41!
Last December, I was brought to the ER, I was dehydrated, fatigued and had lost 14 lbs in 4 days. I was then diagnosed as a type1 insulin dependent diabetic, my lab BG was at 28.8 I was shocked and surprised, just 4 weeks earlier I had received my complete medical check up and everything was in line, my fasting BG was very nice at 5.2, I had never been diagnosed nor told of having any diabetic tendencies.
Any ways I had two choices, either stop and spend my time and energy crying over my disabilitating diagnostic or see it as an opportunity to shape up and review my life style, take care of my health, as every body should and take this as a condition and not as a disability nor an handicap. Within 4 months I was able to drop my A1C from 9.1 to 5.7 with the help of Glucose Buddy (which I download directly at the ER during my 3 day stay at the hospital) a good carb diet and a great medical team helping me. I don't think I could have achieved this without the great logging capacity of Glucose Buddy! Thanks for having created such an amazing app.
