Default How can I get my data out?

Every time I select "email log entries", the iPhone app crashes and returns me to the main menu, and I never get the logs in my email. This used to work, but I haven't used it in a few months.

I also cannot find any way to export my readings from the web site. I've got a doctor appointment coming up this week and I wanted to take a printed copy of my logs in with me, but it looks like I'm hosed. I can't find any way to get my logs out of the iPhone app or out of the web site.

Any advice?

Thanks.

So far the only way to get the information is the "push" email, to my knowledge.

The App uses the email function of your iPhone. Can you currently send an email from your phone?

I ask this because I recently went through the same thing. I found that my web service provider had changed their email server and I was not informed of the change. I had to make a few changes in my email setup on the iPhone to fix this.

Email works fine on my phone. I've downloaded WaveSense and that program emails my readings to me successfully, but Glucose Buddy still crashes every time I try to email. I've synced regularly to the web site. All my data is on the web. Isn't there any way to getting my data back out?

If there is no way to get my data out, is there any way to delete all of my data from the web site? Since I'm moving to a new phone app that works for me, I'd really prefer to take my data with me, or at least not leave it behind with a service I no longer use.

If you Email support@glucosebuddy.com with your request to delete your account information and data, they will be happy to delete you.

Well, they won't be happy to see you go, but they will delete you

Thanks, I'll send an email to them and keep my fingers crossed.

I've been sending emails to that support email address for a couple of weeks about this problem, but I've never gotten any response at all from them. Not even a form letter acknowledging my emails. Yes, I've been checking my spam folder.

Thanks for your help. It's a real shame that all that data is trapped and there's no good way to get it out. Over 1300 records. *sigh*

I really don't see what all the fuss is about! You stated that you wanted to take a printed copy to the doctor. If that is the case, then just go to the website and print each page that you want to take. The print function works just fine! If you want to take all 1300 records then print all 52 pages.

I'd like to download my data, import to my spreadsheet software and hit print once. Then I'd also have my data for anaylsis.

Do you really think that waiting for 52 web pages and going though 52 print dialogs is really just as good?

We would all like to have a usable downloadable format. However, the chances are, that if there were currently such a format, it would most likely not be suitable for everyone. I am sure that this will come in future updates and as the website grows, but for now we will just have to work with what we have.

No I don't think that waiting for 52 web pages and going though 52 print dialogs is really just as good. I don't remember that being the original question. You said you couldn't find a way and I merely pointed out a way!

Smile Exporting Data

Here's what I do:
On a PC, when you export logs, you can import them to Microsoft Excel (on the MAC, I haven't yet figured out how to import them, as you get a screen with comma separated values, but I'm sure they are importable to Excel spreadsheet). Then, I re-sort the data according to times of day or other events, and reformat so I can use excel to plot the data and print the plots. I would still encourage the developers to have a better format for viewing data and exporting. Other than that, I a thrilled to have an easy iPhone program that keeps me recording my BG's, and am so glad you've made it FREE.

Thanks!

Shelley

Shelley;

Recently the website was revised and you can now export logs in CSV format. Give it a try, I am sure that you will like it!
