Insulin causes weight gain try to use as little as possible. If you are type 2 ask your doc about victoza or byetta. They help your body make it's own insulin and side effect is weight loss.

Victoza is a relatively new injectable for T2 diabetics. Many users have taken it to reduce appetite, lower glucose levels, and to help reduce insulin doses. But many Victoza users have also reported bad side effects that are too numerous to list here. I was on Victoza for about three months but a tachycardia(fast heart rate) forced me off. I know that Victoza was the cause. Also, the FDA approval of Victoza was accompanied by warnings about thyroid and pancreatic cancers.
I advise anyone considering Victoza to read forum postings that detail users' experiences with this drug. |

I am not so sure that I completely agree with this statement. I realize that in some instances insulin may cause weight gain, but in my case I am loosing some weight. The weight loss is gradual and appears to be about one pound per month, but I am holding my own while being insulin dependent. I am having to really watch the carbs, but I am doing this anyway to calculate my bolus injections. Your Mileage May Vary.

I am a type 2 diabetic who never had problems with my weight. My endocrinologist told me that insulin is a hormone that makes weight lose more difficult but not impossible. I have started watching my caloric and fat intake more carefully and have increased my cardio exercise. All this is helping and the weight is coming off, albeit slowly. I had to adjust my goals because I was getting depressed because it was so much harder to get the weight off than before I was on insulin. I am doing it though and do can you. Slow and sure wins the race is my new motto.

You are not kidding, loosing weight means changing everything for me. Diet, exercise and dealing with Diabetes for all of it. Can't do it all at once, I had to ramp up to 3 hours of exercise per week over a couple of months. Finally resorted to counting carbs and a 2000 calorie/day diet to loose weight.

weight gain
hi friends, the best way to gain weight is to have food in time. don't do any work. simply waste your time at home and eat vitamin food. use meat once in a week.
