Victoza
Hi, My doctor wants me to try the new drug Victoza, but I am alarmed by the fact that rats have developed thyroid cancer. Does anyone else feel like a guinea pig?

I am new to this medication as well as recently diagnosed. Has anyone experience any side effects? Are you using the drug in combination with anything else?

I have been on Victoza for almost 9 months now. I started out with minor nausea, but it was NOTHING compared to what I experienced with Byetta! I nvwr get those horrible lows anymore either The other "side effect" I have experienced is weight loss! I can't complain!! I have hypothyroidism, and so far this medication has not affected my thyroid at all. I do take this with 5mg of Glyburide, morning and night. In three months time, my A1c went from 8.4 to 7.9! That is HUGE for me!! Good luck to all!!

Victoza
I had a big problem with Victoza. Even though I didn't suffer much from the most common side affects(nausea, vomiting, constipation), I couldn't stay with Victoza. It increased my resting heart rate by 20-30 beats. I suggest you read the users' comments at
http://www.diabetesmine.com/2010/04/...n-victoza.html You may then decide if Victoza is worth trying. |
