Watsup Diabetics!?
Been a diabetic since I was 5, I'm now 16. Apathy is my biggest problem right now, so I decided to check out this site, hoping that I'll find some encouragement to keep on keeping on. It seems pretty awesome. Hopefully, it'll help me care and control.

Hey . I totally know what you mean. Although, my thing is more denial than apathy. Some days I just don't feel like being diabetic. I won't check my bs, or I'll eat more than I should.

Thanks for the empathy, it definitely sucks. Lately I've just been eating whatever I want without counting carbs. For the past week I've been trying to eat whatever I want, as well as count carbs and test. If I eat whatever I want but test, count carbs and bolus, I'm pretty much able to walk the line between feeling as if I don't have diabetes and still controlling it. It's a hard line to walk.

GB helps
I was diagnosed in 99 with Type II, and did High Control Management when I lived in MN, then moved to CA and suddenly I wasn't considered bad enough for them to see my diabetes seriously. I was no longer covered for meter/strips and have been paying out of pocket. Well, of course, some times there was no money and I went without. NOW, I am testing again and found this site.
Neuropathy has progressed from my feet to my right arm, giving me lots of pain and causing immobility from it. Since adding this app, and another to monitor food and exercise (myfitnesspal.com) I discovered the higher numbers and am seeing them slowly drop. There's no room for apathy & depression any more. I have got to turn this around because my body is telling me that if I don't, I can kiss my life good bye. |
