Hi my fellow Diabetics. I've had Type 1 Diabeties for 37 years (bit of an oldhand!). It can still trick me though. Am going through a tough time of unexpected high sugars which I suspect is insulin resistance but plan to gather evidence to support this theory.
I've always been a tech lover and diary hater! Was pleased to find GB as I think it is just the tool I've been looking for! Wish me luck in getting to the bottom of my diabeties problems. I'll probably post details in a different thread and keep this meet and greet thread.
My family is quite used to diabeties as myself and eldest brother got it within 6 months of each other. Our other two brothers are both clear. We are members of the Warren Repository and donated our DNA as did our parents in the hope researchers can make some progress in discovering what makes myself and my eldest brother Diabetic whilst our brothers are not, nor have they developed it in the 37 years since I got it.

Best theories so far have been that my Eldest brother caught a virus that caused his immune system to attack his islets of Langenhorn and that when I caught it I had the same result. Either my other brothers did not catch the virus or their immune system cleared it without the complication. Worthy of a thesis for someone's Doctorate imao!
Wonder if we'll ever get to the bottom of it!
