morning highs?
I have been T2 for 6 years and I cannot ever wake up with good numbers. I go to bed at 124 and wake up at 270. Does anyone else have this experience?

Yes, it happens to some people. In order to answer you question more info is needed. Take a look at the High Fasting BG thread located below.

Hi Kat, I was diagnosed two weeks ago with t2. The first few days of testing I noticed my levels were high in the morning as well. I started taking my medication before bed which helped me, BUT I still ask my Dr. about the high a.m. levels (today was my follow up with my dr.) he said your levels drop at night (cuz of no food of course) if it drops low enough your liver puts out more blood to correct the low levels. But this might be just me.

I have been having the same problem lately, although not quite as high. I used to wake up in the low 100's now I wake up in the 180's and I am not doing anything different. I am T2 for about 6 years and I am on Metformin and Actos. I am going to be asking my doctor about this later this month.

My doctor put me on Levemir to take at bedtime. I understand it is a "slow acting insulin". Do you take oral medication or insulin? Sylvia

If you have sleep apnea, that has also been shown to be linked to higher morning readings.
