Default New to site, new to diabetes.

Well, just found this site. Have already determined it is not that old, look forward to watching it grow. Don't know who MYLEstone Health is, but that will be my next Google Search inquiry.

Anywho, about me. I live in South Georgia in the US(about 50m north of Tallahassee, Florida. I have just been officially diagnosed with the d-word, as in hospitalized on the Wed. before Valentines day with flu, hbp, congestive heart failure, kidneys trying to fail, and BG of over 300.

After having enough tests, blood work, meds, and procedures(two echocardio- grams, a kidney ultrasound, chest xrays, several ekg's, and last, but not least a heart cath), I wheeled out the joint minus almost 40lbs with a fist of bp med, heart med, cholesterol med, and insulin(20 units of Levamir). Cardiac diagnosis was week left ventricle and 50% blockage(didnt require surgery or stents, just the chol. med.

So I am coping well because of family history , I know a little about how to eat, what to eat, just getting use to the testing and meds. I have had blurred vision that is a pain(I drive for a living). Freaked out when it first happened, doc said my body had to adapt to lower sugar.

Enough, I am glad to be here, and look forward to chatting.

Welcome to the Forum!

It sounds like you have been run through the mill. I am glad you are doing OK. The blurred vision should subside when your blood sugar returns to normal. Good luck with your control and management.
