If in doubt I would always test it. I have used Clinistix to test PepsiMax and it came up with no glucose in it ... and it does not appear to affect my BG levels. Although I have only drank small amounts.
I would get some clinistix and test it and also your BG levels.

Hmm, I will try it, but isn't Clinistix for urine test ? Is it also work for checking drinks?

Yes, but they have a number of uses. It was a trick I picked up from a book about your first year as a diabetic (cannot remember the author). Also a book about achieving normal blood sugar, which used these to test a number of foods by putting the food in your mouth, letting the silica mix with it, and putting some of it in contact with the stick ... although I have not tried this.
Using it to test drinks is especially good when you are out in a pub/club so you know if what you asked for (i.e. a diet drink) is what you got.
However, whenever I try something for the first time I always test afterwards with my BG monitor also.
Hope this helps.

I've heard that diet drinks don't raise blood sugar but DO cause the pancreas to release insulin, the way it does with "real" sugar.
Is that true?

I'd be amazed if that was true, Spacecadette. Maybe the wish was father to the thought by whoever told you that.

Cheers
Adrian
