Default DKA Diagnosed Diabetes

My name is Shelly and I was diagnosed with Type2 diabetes after suffering Diabetic Ketoasidosis and spending 4 days in the ICU. It was horrible! My body was shutting down, but my life was spared and I survived. The disease is a blessing in disguise and my life has changed completely. I've lost 45lbs and my last A1c was 6.3%! I feel great, I have more energy, and I'm off all insulin and only take Metformin 2x. Diabetes sucks, is unpredictable, annoying, time consuming, and mind consuming, but it also saved my life.

Welcome to the Forum!

Take a look at the first three (3) threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance. Diabetes is also an inconvenience, at least that is how I look at it. Congratulations on the weight loss and I am glad that you are doing well. Good luck with your control and management.
