Default I'm not diabetic

My sugar is slightly elevated a few points above the "norm," and my doctor is insisting I take Januvia. I'm not happy about this.

Default You are NOT a diabetic!

@serialmom12
I don't blame you for not being happy about taking Januvia. If you are barely over the cusp, you could probably reverse your condition with diet and exercise. That is the course I am going to take. These are the things I am doing:

1. Changing my diet to a raw, vegan diet and tracking what I eat.
2. Monitoring my blood glucose when I awake and before/after meals.
3. Exercising every day no matter what. I am walking one mile a day on my treadclimber.

I chose the raw vegan diet after seeing the documentary "Simply Raw" on FMTV.com. The documentary is about several people (with different types of diabetes) who reversed (or partially reversed) their condition through diet and exercise. My wake up call was hearing one of the patients mention a symptom he was experiencing which went away after dietary changes. That statement prompted me to test my blood glucose. Unfortunately, it confirmed my suspicions.

While I am not telling you to do what I am doing, I will encourage you to do some research. I will gladly point you to some websites and documentaries where people have reversed various health issues by primarily making permanent dietary changes -- such as fleeing (and I mean fleeing) from processed foods.

As a mom of two, I want to be around to see my children get married and have children.

I will be very glad to email with you and walk through this with you.

Check your blood glucose levels against this chart before you commit to the meds.
