Talking Randy 75

Hello, i am a new insulin user who went from having prediabetes to type 2 diabetes and now i am taking inulin. My first injection was this morning and my BG is still high 2 hours after eating it was 296 down from 310 after testing at about 1 hour 40 minutes after eating. We may need ti increase the dosage from 15 units to something higher.

Welcome to the Forum! Read the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance.

Did your doctor or endo calculate your insulin to carbohydrate ratio (ICR) and insulin sensitivity factor (ISF)? Here is a link to a pdf file that explains most of it. Most of the time many General Practitioners will put their patients on the sliding-scale, basically, for example, they want you to eat 30 carbs and take so many unit of insulin.
