I need some advice
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in December. I was taking insulin. Then I was told that I may not be type 1 that I maybe type two. I was then switched from insulin to Metformin. I was so happy. No more needles. The first two weeks were great. But by the third week the Metformin wasn't working and the dose needed to be increased. I was put up to four metformin and two amaryl. Now this pass week my sugars are completely out of control despite me eating very little to no carbs. My husband thinks I should suggest going back on insulin but I just have this hope that eventually I will get to the right dosage that will keep my sugars in check for longer then two weeks. Has anyone else went through this and what was the outcome?

Met-form issues
Hello,
I am a type 2 and I am also on met-form, and my side effects are awful. I asked to be switched to another medication. I am hoping that my body will adjust to the new medication. My suggestion to you is give met-form at least two more weeks and then ask to be put back on insulin. Trust me I am along for the ride of which medication will work and which medications will not. Maybe your body needs to adjust. I am here for you if you need to talk. Thanks, Kerri |

Well sugars kept going higher so my doctor switched me today back to insulin. I think it's for the best. I am okay about it because at least now I know. I can continue being healthy. Maybe now my energy can return and I can get back to working out . I was diagnosed December 2, 2015.
