Default Hi, I am Cindy.

I have had type 2 diabetes for about 6 years now. Last night I started on insulin. Please let me know how your experiences with being on insulin are.

Welcome to the Forum!

Going on insulin was probably one of the best things that happened to me after having diabetes for several years. The pills only work so long for must of us. It got so I could never control my blood glucose with diet & exercise. I have my A1c down to ~6%.

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
