I am 59 and was newly dx in Sept 2012. In DKA with BG of 800. What a shock. A1C at dx was 13.6. Six months later 5.6.

I was recently diagnosed on June 11, 2013 and my bg was in the upper 300s and they said I had it for three months. It was very scary and life changing and I am taking a class in July and meeting with other teens my age that has type one. I am trying to be more supportive and meeting new people and joining groups. I couldn't imagine being in the 900d that's real crazy. What did it feel like!!? I was peeing soo much and my mouth was dry all the time. I was 125lbs and when I went in the hospital I was 94lbs and now I am 108lbs and healthy. I couldn't eat for at least 10 hours and I didn't eat all day besides water and it was torcher.
