Welcome to the Forum!
What "Type" of diabetes do you have? Self education is one of the keys to dealing with diabetes. Read and learn all you can on your condition. Whether you are Type 1 or Type 2, please read the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, as they will help. Good luck with your control and management.

Type 1. I have read a lot of stuff, and it seems to discourage me and my motivation has been dropping. It's so much to do and I have been trying my best and still fall short

I understand your problem. I went through this years ago. It is a lot to take in all at once. Take one thing at a time and you will learn this in no time. Self education is very important to your diabetes care. Testing frequently is also very important. Here are two websites that will help you: one and two. Remember that carb counting works and try to find a endocrinologist, dietitian, and a diabetes educator that are willing to work with you as your "diabetes team". Good luck.
