I use an app on my iPhone called myfitnesspal. They also have a web site. This has really helped me. You just enter the food your going to eat or have ate and it calculate your carbs. It will also help set goals for weight loss.

I use a carb diet of 60g of carbs per meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and 3 snacks 15 to 20g of carbs. I use a 20:1 insulin ratio.

I was diagnosed in dec 2009 at the age of 31. In the hospital my a1c was 15. Since then my a1c has lowered to 5.2 and I have lost 40 pounds.
