I started having period issues at almost 17, as in they stopped and dr kept saying pregnant because uterus enlarged but I wasn't. Went on pill, diagnosised high blood pressure and cholesterol at 19. Started meds then. Pregnant at 21 (only took about 4-6 months), C-section at 28wks due to severe per-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome, tubal 4 months later-next pregnancy would likely kill me. Have taken birth control pills off and on since 17 to regulate since my body will have one for months at a time then stop for months. Jump to age 35, diagnosised with PCOS by a very smart gyn (had seen many over the years who treated with the pill but keep saying dysfunctional uterine bleeding) who told me to have primary do a 2h glucose test. My primary was skeptical since normal fasting and HA1C, but I failed it with two results over 200 (205, 215). Now on byetta, yasmine and cinnamon.
