I am a type 1 diabetic- have been for 18 years now. I was three web diagnosed. In 2007, I discovered that I have Celiac Disease. It's when foods with gluten inflame my villi in my intestines. The only solution is a life long gluten free diet. If the diet isn't taken seriously and followed closely, the effect would be lymphoma. I noticed before finding out that I was extremely tired after eating, sometimes fell asleep at the table, and had bad stomach problems- gas, diarrhea, bloating, nausea, etc. My doctor did a blood test & I tested positive for Celiac's. They did a biopsy shortly after and it was confirmed. I learned that Celiac Disease & Type 1 Diabetes are related. You may want to check this out. It sucks, but gluten free is currently a "fad diet" and the markets are coming out with many gluten free foods.
