Default weight

I was in denial the first 10 years so the last three have been very tough... I wasnt tiny but was very happy with my small frame at 145 and in the past yr my HA1C has dropped from a 14 to a 8 and still dropping but I get in the funks of wanting to go back to my bad habits because I am now pushing 200 lbs.... I've worked out tried strict diets cut soda pop out and nothing is helping.. Being 22 and over weight is not easy especially with this disease do any tips or help would be great! I don't want to give up it just feels like I'm at a brick wall.

Welcome to the Forum!

I am glad to see that you are getting on top of things. Do you currently count carbs? I have found this very effective in my diabetes management and weight loss.

Take a look at the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, as they may help you as well.

Lower carbs in general. The less insulin you have to take the better. Insulin is a fat storing hormone. Lots of veggies and a good amt of protein (not high protein no carb!!). Worked for me, I'm a 30 year old mother and type 1 for 16 years! (exercise too)

Jbburkey: I am in the same situation I am 26 and since I have had my 2 kids my weight has been a big issue for me and to drop this "baby" weight is killing me! I have 2 given up in the past but I am not on top of what I eat and in control with my diabetes! I don't want any complications in the future and I want to live longer for my kids sake. I have been writing down everything I eat that had helped me a lot try doing that, that might work!
